The Best of 2014 is a countdown of the Top 10 Posts of 2014 on Sugar Dish Me. These are your favorites from ten to one.
It’s been a big year! 2014 has been one big long succession of milestones for us over here in the Sugar Dish family.
We bought one house on two acres and rescued three more dogs. We hosted a holiday and knocked down a wall, mowed a zillion tons of grass, went over the top with our Halloween decorations and costumes, and I cooked an insane amount of food.
This is a countdown of your favorites this year, from ten all the way down to one! I’ve noticed you guys are with me on a few trends: BREAKFAST RULES, we like healthy things that remind us of comfort foods, and we are very fond of blueberries. Check it out.
These fun tiny treats are filled with a fluffy cream cheese and a rainbow of fresh fruit. Cinnamon sugar tortillas give some sweet crisp crunch.
I’m amazed that this recipe made the list at all because I actually just shared it on December 17th. It made it to number nine in just over 10 days! That no doubt puts it in the Best Of category. It’s super simple to make and would be good on any morning, not just Christmas.
This is one of those healthy comfort food things. It’s based on the Healthy Peach Banana Bread Recipe that I wrote for my friends at Food Fanatic. This bread clocks in at less that 90 calories per serving which means I will be snacking on this happily through 2015.
Crispy Orange Chicken Quinoa Bowls
I will eat this over take out any day of the week. The secret is the orange sauce. Orange sauce!!! I’m telling you — if you have not tried these bowls of happy yet, you need to put them on your to-do list asap.
Sweet Potato Muffins with Pecan Streusel
These muffins. Ohhhmahgahhh. They are fluffy and perfectly spiced with just the right amount of buttery streusel pecan crunch. Sweet potatoes for breakfast are happy.
Philly Steak and Grilled Cheese
Thinly sliced steak, onions, bell peppers, and some outta-this-world cheese sauce I made with Cabot’s Horseradish Cheddar. This is the best thing that ever happened to grilled cheese.
The easiest recipe everrr, but so much flavor packed is into these tiny little bites. Blueberry Pie Bites are such a fun way to enjoy fresh blueberries. Pie in moderation means you can have like 10.
Oh pancakes, how I love thee. This recipe is for a super simple mix that you can keep on hand. Add milk and an egg and you will have the biggest, fattest, fluffiest pancakes ever. You can even add fruit (read: blueberries).
The Best Dang Granola Bars Ever {Ever.}
They are. I mean it. I used to sell these here locally and they seriously disappeared less than 5 minutes after the chocolate set up. My love for these granola bars is eternal. Maybe one day I’ll have a food truck and I can peddle them on the street.
The epitome of healthy and delicious. These have been pinned over a hundred thousand times in just the last couple of months. They are so popular that they dethroned Homemade Fresh Vegetable Soup as the top recipe on Sugar Dish Me for two years running. And for good reason. These are easy to prepare, totally low calorie and high protein, but it kinda tastes like you are eating the best sort of junk food. This recipe is an all-around win.
Thanks for being a part of this totally terrific year!
